Why is B2B Trust becoming B2B Bank?

B2B Trust will become B2B Bank on July 7, 2012, pending regulatory approval, to better represent its banking business activities of lending and deposit-taking for consumers through their advisor and to better align with our brand promise - Banking that works for advisors.

Will my clients and dealer be notified?

All dealers, advisors, and clients with active B2B Trust products will be notified of our intention to become B2B Bank. Dealers and advisors will be notified by email on April 2, 2012. Clients will receive a notification letter with their March statement. If a client’s account is not set to receive a March statement, they will receive a notification letter by direct mail. If a new B2B Trust account is opened on or after April 2, the client will receive the notification letter within their account welcome kit. Will there be a new B2B Bank web address?

Yes, following July 7, 2012, the new B2B Bank web address will be b2bbank.com. If you enter the current web address following the conversion date, you will be automatically forwarded to the new address.

When should I start using the new B2B Bank account application forms? Where can I get copies of the new forms?

B2B Trust account application forms will be accepted until July 6, 2012, after which new B2B Bank application forms must be used. The new B2B Bank application forms will be available on our website on July 7, 2012. Please use the new B2B Bank forms following the conversion date to avoid delays in processing.

Will my EASE login details remain the same?

Yes, if you have registered to use EASE, our online loan submission system, your access code and password will remain the same. Following the conversion, you can login to EASE by visiting b2bbank.com and clicking on the “Sign In” section.

Will my commission structure remain the same?

Yes, there will be no change to your commission structure.

Is there any action required by my dealer following this notification?

Yes, dealers have been notified and requested to notify clients who hold nominee accounts at B2B Trust of our intention to become B2B Bank. To assist dealers in notifying their nominee account clients, a link to a sample communication was included in the notification email to dealers.

Is there any action required by my clients following this notification?

No, there is no action required by your clients.

Will my clients’ account number or registered plan number remain the same after the conversion?

Yes, your clients will maintain their current account number and/or registered plan number following the conversion.

Will my clients’ account fees remain the same?

Yes, your clients’ current account fees will remain the same on their account.

Will my clients’ account features and additional account instructions remain the same?

Yes, your clients’ current account features and any additional account instructions, such as pre-authorized debits (PAD), inter-institution fund transfers (IIFT), or electronic fund transfers (EFT), will remain the same on their account.

If my client has a B2B Trust Banking account with cheques and/or debit card, will these continue to function following the conversion?

Yes, your client’s B2B Trust cheques and/or debit card will continue to function and be accepted following the conversion date. Replacements are not required. If your client would like to replace their B2B Trust cheques with B2B Bank cheques and/or their B2B Trust debit card with a B2B Bank debit card following the conversion date, they can do so by calling B2B Bank Telebanking Services at 1.866.334.4434. Clients will assume the cost of ordering new cheques.

Will the B2B Bank Online Banking web address change? Will my client’s login and password change?

Following the conversion date, your clients can visit B2B Bank Online Banking at b2bbank.com/onlinebanking. If you enter the current web address following the conversion date, you will be automatically forwarded to the new address. Your client’s access code and password will remain the same.

Will there be any change to statements or confirmations sent by B2B Bank to my clients?

Yes, statements and confirmations will be branded B2B Bank instead of B2B Trust; however the format, vehicle, and frequency of delivery will not change with the conversion.

Will B2B Bank perform trustee functions for registered accounts?

When B2B Trust becomes B2B Bank, all trustee functions currently performed by B2B Trust will be transferred to a newly created entity, B2B Trustco, a federally-chartered trust company and subsidiary of B2B Bank. Following July 7, 2012, the trustee for all registered plans will be B2B Trustco and the plan will be administered by B2B Bank. Registered Deposit and Self-Directed account clients will be informed of the trustee change in their notification letter. There is no action required by dealers, advisors, or clients related to the trustee change.

Will my clients’ B2B Bank Deposit account continue to be eligible for Canada Deposit Insurance Corporate (CDIC) coverage following the conversion?

Yes, your clients’ B2B Bank deposits will continue to be eligible for Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) coverage.

Will my clients with registered accounts receive a new Declaration of Trust (DOT)?

In the coming months, B2B Trust Registered Deposit and Self-Directed account clients will receive a new Declaration of Trust applicable to their account, which will include amendments relating to recent changes to the Income Tax Act in the area of non-qualified and prohibited investments.

How can I stay updated of the progress of the B2B Bank conversion?

We will continue to communicate all pertinent information to dealers, advisors, and clients to keep you informed of our progress towards becoming B2B Bank as well as provide any account-specific information required.
